Young Voices – February 2023

🌟 What an incredible night! Our first time back in many years! A big shout out to Mr Clarke, Mrs Tait and Miss Wood for giving up their Friday evening, especially on the last day of term and after two lots of Parents’ Evenings this week to take our School Choir to Young Voices! 🌟

Years 3 and 4 had informal discussions about the role of the Police Motorbike within our community and how it helps to keep us safe. Years 5 & 6 discussed anti-social behaviour and the role of the Police.

To start Christmas Week festivities, we welcomed our friends from Wakefield Music Services! A Christmas Concert with a LIVE BAND!

A Christmas Treat: Mince Pie Workshops – December 2022

All children took part in surprise mince pie baking workshops with Classroom Kitchen! School was smelling delicious!

More Than Dance Advent Liturgical Dance Workshops – December 2022

Our Christmas treats and workshops began by welcoming More Than Dance to NJA, for the very first time. All children took part in their 3 hour dance workshops and had the opportunity to learn a dance which follows a contemporary ‘liturgical dance’ format, which is a range of movement and British sign language based on an Advent/Christmas piece of music! The children and staff loved it! Danielle and Emily from More Than Dance are the best!

Christmas Community Afternoon – December 2022

What a truly wonderful Christmassy afternoon with all our parents, carers and family members! We welcomed 179 adults into school and they helped to create Christmas Cards which were delivered to the local care homes, as well as delivered to a special event the School Choir attended at The Well Project Normanton before Christmas, too! It was a packed house in the hall also, after the Christmas Card making. We hope all our families enjoyed their coffee, mince pie or reindeer biscuit and had a lovely afternoon! Thank you for coming!
Normanton Remembrance Sunday Parade – November 2022
A huge well done, and thank you, to our School Council Representatives who attended the Remembrance Sunday Parade, accompanied by Mrs Tait and Mrs Wood. The children were a credit to themselves, their families and our school! Well done boys and girls!
Y6 Bikeability – November 2022
Each year, our Y6 children take part in Bikeability sessions, led by Cycle North. These annual sessions form a crucial part of our PSHE Safety Curriculum as well as PE Curriculum Offer
